The ADV400 / IST400 Learning Experience

By fully participating in this learning experience, you will be able to:

  • Explain how the Internet expands the options for economic activity, communication, entertainment, and social interaction.
  • Develop a straegic plan that accounts for the exponential expansion of choice (The "Long Tail") made possible by information technology; the social and economic forces behind social technologies; and is technology agnostic (i.e., does not rely on a specific technology/platform.
  • Incorporate different media into a strategic plan based on how each is impacted by any government regulations
  • Explain a basic history of the Internet, and differentiate between “Web 1.0” and “Web 2.0” technologies
